Jim Rohn, a titan in the speaking business once said, “No matter what goals you set in life, there will always be some simple things you must identify – and do – along the way.” For instance, if you want to lose weight, you’ll have to cut back on saturated fats and sugar – drink lots of water – exercise – and add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. Do these things and, like magic, the pounds will begin to melt away. If you want to be a better spouse, you’ll need to spend more quality time with your mate and family – help out around the house – and be more respectful of your spouse’s time. If you accomplish each of these interim goals, you’ll reach the larger one, too.

Your business is no different. Setting and reaching a few simple interim goals can lead you to the larger one – a recognizable business that soars above all others in your field. Here are a few simple tips that can make a huge difference.

First of all, remember the words spoken by the famous actor, Don Cheadle: “… mediocrity is what’s rampant, but excellence is rare.” Always produce a quality product. If you’re sending emails, make sure your document is well written. If you’re printing T-shirts or publications, use top-notch images or photography. Your attention to detail speaks volumes about you and your business. Quality always beats quantity – and your prices can reflect your demonstrated expertise and concern for your clients. Just ask Porsche or Rolls Royce.

Secondly, if you advertise in print, spring for a full page or cover so that you’ll leave a large and lasting impression. Most business owners are satisfied with business cards or quarter-page ads. To achieve celebrity status for your business … a full page is a must and repetition is the key.

The third tip that can help you become a business celebrity is to fall in love with taking risks and though you may be afraid to step out into the unknown, do it anyway. You’ll separate your business from the rest of the pack when you take just one extra step. You don’t have to run an entire extra mile. Trust me, you can soar above the crowd by doing a little bit more. Most people would rather remain comfortable with where they are, rather than move forward. So … take a risk with one extra step and you’ll get some attention. Always remember, succeeding in business is all about taking risks.

My fourth tip for you is to promote your business as an expert source. You know your strong points. Accentuate those attributes. Write them down. Keep them in front of you when you’re talking on the telephone. What makes you an expert? Why do they need your product or service? Develop a catchy slogan or jingle and make sure you have a great logo and website design.

Tip number five: stick to your niche. It is better to dig one deep well than many shallow ones. If you’re in the printing business, for example, set goals to increase your business progressively. You might start with your own printing press and progress to offering graphic design while planning to establish a full-service distribution company. As you add more services within your niche, your revenues will grow, allowing you to offer even more aligned services.

And finally, network, network, network. Promote your brand image as often as you can. Attend trade shows, health fairs and other events. Talk about what you do with as many people as possible. Increase your web presence. Pitch a TV or radio show. Write a book or an e-book to establish yourself as an author and an expert in your field. In other words, find a way to serve more people.

Stay on this “celebrity model” course to brand your business and the public will be more likely to remember your organization when they need your product or service. And increased revenue? That’s a natural by-product of celebrity.

Celebrity Diets – When Things Become Deadly

Posted June 9th, 2010. Filed under Life Style

Celebrities often bewilder us by bringing out a sudden change in their physical appearance. Following certain features in magazines, commending that these people worked out, ate nothing for weeks all together confuse us again. There is a lot to learn from these celebrity weight losses rather than criticizing them by giving nasty comments.

There are many factors that lead to sudden weight loss to a celebrity than to a normal person who is ready to spend the same amount of time and money. Normal people when getting in to the idea of diet and weight loss always tend to withdraw easily. On the other hand, celebrities are more over forced to do diet program for weight loss or else will be thoroughly ignored by the public.

To dig out the hidden facts about celebrity diets is not at all easy. Many famous stars do not reveal such beauty tricks to the public. Stars always must look appealing and this makes them ultimately do anything to lose their weight. A monotonous diet regime would not help in such situations. Many factors like strenuous exercises, nasty diet drinks, liposuction, and even major surgeries are entangled for a sudden slim appearance. Studies have reported that models and stars follow a liquid diet with less food to cope their tiredness. Fasting throughout for about 21 days or less than that can shed your extra pounds. Famous diet regime includes low carbs, plus high protein that have reported negative signs to ones health.

American Heart Association is against such celebrity diets as they lead to sudden bodily illnesses through dehydration, withdrawal of minerals and vitamins that are essential for human health. Running for10 miles or more, along with a diet of egg whites, chicken and baked potatoes have proved to be a success for stardoms. There are cases where such diets result is heavy illnesses. Then is the group that runs after liposuctions, surgeries that again is a premonition of illness.

Rather than going after such quick bizarre diets it is always advisable to maintain a healthy diet with all the necessary elements in your food along with a non-strenuous exercise regime that is to be performed routinely. Such diets and slow exercises may rapidly cause weight loss, not like the other dramatic changes as seen in celebrity diets. Moreover, the reduction of fat from the human body must be slow process; our body may not be able to accept a sudden loss of 20 or 30 pounds leading to illnesses.

There are instincts where the trainers introduce new methods for sudden weight loss, like wearing tight zip-up plastic suits and running in the extreme heat. Certain celebrities like sportsmen are of the intention that sweating would remove a reasonable amount of fat from their body. Rather than shedding pounds, it causes dehydration that causes a change in the weighing scale. Celebrities always envy us with their shaped gowns or extreme slim and sharp features; though these celebrity diets may be a success in weight loss they may cause threat to your life itself.

Why Do People Become Obsessed With Celebrities?

Posted June 1st, 2010. Filed under celebrity

You only have to step into a local shop and look at the rows and rows of glossy magazines to see that we are a nation that is obsessed with celebrity. Heat magazine is one of the biggest selling magazines in the UK with a circulation of over half a million, and this is only one of a long list of celebrity gossip magazines that is produced each week.

The title of the ultimate British celebrity magazine should probably go to Ok! magazine. It is a favourite of many celebrities who will turn to the magazine to reveal any revelations or scandal in their lives. Ok! covers more celebrity weddings, pregnancies and engagements than any other magazines. Most celebrities will use Ok! as a platform to promote something good in their lives and it is well known that they will receive a hefty payment in return. Ok! magazine was first published in 1993 and since then there has been a huge influx in rival magazines all claiming to be the first port of call for inside celebrity gossip.

But what is it about celebrity that fascinates us so much? In my opinion there is more than one reason. For some people it is simply a case of lifestyle envy.  Celebrities appear to have it all: money, looks, a fabulous lifestyle and worldwide recognition. They seem to live a magical lifestyle that some of us aspire to achieve. Celebrities have become a new form of god figure and we allow ourselves to fantasise that our lives could one day be like theirs. Some people even feel that proximity to celebrities will elevate them from a normal person to celebrity status. Or perhaps they think that maybe they can befriend a rich celeb and that they will share some of their wealth with them? Either way this is a pretty deluded state of mind. It is very unlikely that a celebrity will allow an average Joe to ride on the coat tails of his or her success.

Another reason for our celebrity obsession is our natural human instinct to be interested in other human beings. Essentially we are pretty nosy creatures. We like to hear what is going on in the lives of people around us. This becomes heightened when directed at the world of celebrity as their lives are so different and more extravagant than ours. We are naturally fascinated by the unknown and unfamiliar. However, this curiosity can be a double-edged sword. We are fascinated by the seemingly perfect lives of celebrities but at the same time we are always waiting for something to go wrong.

We do not always want to hear how well someone is doing and it is a well known fact that scandal always sells more than good news. Sometimes it takes someone else’s bad news to make us feel better about our lives. Of course this seems a twisted logic but it is a fact, and the magazine circulation numbers back this up. People are much more likely to want to read about a married footballer’s sleazy affair with a page three model than the good news that a pop star is set to break America. Just look at the current Cheryl and Ashley Cole situation. The bottom line is: scandal sells.

Each week the media churn out pictures of flawless celebrities that have been air-brushed thus setting an unrealistic goal for the likes of you and me. This is why when a celeb is spotted without her makeup we feel better because they are instantly put on a level with the average person. An element of normality is created. We rejoice in seeing a celeb looking bad because it makes us feel better about our bad hair days and so-called fat days. `

A way of feeling closer to our favourite celebrities and idols is to collect memorabilia associated with them. If we own a piece of signed memorabilia it is as if we have some sort of connection or are paying homage to them in some sense. Avid fans often keep large collections of items associated with a certain celebrity and invest a certain amount of emotion into their collection. If you or someone close to you is looking to add to their collection or perhaps start a collection of treasured articles then visit Genuine Memorabilia’s online website. The company boasts a collection of over 6,000 signed articles to choose from. It includes memorabilia from the world of sport, film, rock and pop, theatre and television.
